Materials

The first elevation maps every material on the facade: stone, artificial stone, brick, ceramic, wood, glass and plastic. A legend links each colour to a photograph of the real surface, so the drawing can be checked against the building.

Facade elevation coloured by material, a legend of materials, a second elevation marking decay, and tables describing each form of decay.

Decay

The second elevation marks cracking, detachment, loss of parts, oxide stains, salt deposits and biological patina. Tables next to the drawing describe how each one looks and what probably causes it, such as moisture, atmospheric agents or stress in the structure.
